3 Days in Toronto During a Pandemic

Writer: Ninoshka PaisNinoshka Pais

How the world has changed, but my love for exploring has remained the same. This week, my wonderful friend from Montreal came to visit us in Toronto so we just had to explore my hometown city. We were shocked at how many things we were able to do in just three days and short notice planning during a global pandemic.

NOTE: If you choose to do any activities, please stay safe. Wear a mask, wash or sanitize your hands often and stay 6 feet apart.

DAY 1

Lunch at Kōst: This amazing rooftop patio restaurant right beside the CN Tower is one that you cannot miss out on this summer! Other than the amazing view, I had the Baja tuna sandwich and WOW was that fish so FRESH.

Kensington Market shopping: I'm definitely more of an online shopper, but if you're into vintage clothing and cheap finds, Kensington Market is definitely a great place to visit. The hipster vibe of this little market is also great for photos if you're not too into shopping.

Dinner at Cabana Waterfront Patio: Two patios in one day? Why not?! Book a table during sunset for a stunning waterfront view of Toronto. The food is catered by Oliver & Bonnacini's, I recommend getting the pizzas, they might be the best thing on the menu. Going to Cabana during a pandemic might be the best time to go if you're looking for a chill and relaxing night with your friends. It's not crowded and the tables are spaced out. It's a good place to treat yourself and enjoy the view.

DAY 2

Woodbine Beach: One of the most popular beaches in Toronto, I recommend going on a weekday as it's less crowded and easier to stay safe and enjoy the beach. The lake is open to swimming but I would recommend just going to tan, relax by the shore or try out jet skiing.

DAY 3

Willow Springs Winery

Take a trip down to this gorgeous winery with $18 wine tastings or buy a bottle and wine tasting is complimentary! Unfortunately with the pandemic, everything closes much earlier than usual. We arrived later in the evening but the staff are so kind, they let us roam freely in the grounds after hours. Great place to take photos in the vineyards and relax from the bustle of the city.

Dinner at Union Social Eatery

Another amazing patio in North York! Let me tell you, the tacos are so amazing, it's a must-try!
